SUPER CUTE place and amazing food. We drove by and my bro had a faint memory of being here a decade ago. We turned around and came back to dine in. Glad we did! It is an old rail car from 1893 that was converted into a restaurant. It has a rich and interesting history. Lots of cute antique memorabilia behind glass in the rail car section. Look at the back page of the menu to read about its history. Very neat. An excellent selection of food and very good quality meals. Sheri T. waited on us and provided great service. Super friendly and patient with us. Mom had a chicken salad croissant sandwich and my bro and I split a blackened ahi tuna burger with a side of tater tots. MMMM one of the best ahi tuna sandwiches I've had. It had a nice toasted bun and thin slices of fresh avocado. Nice touch. The tater tots were crispy but not greasy, and very good. The interior of this restaurant is adorable. Lots of things to look at. We really thought it was beautiful and fun. Definitely worth another stop next time we are in town. And yes we all had sandwiches in Sandwich ha ha.

10/10 I’m a fairly hard person to impress when it comes to food and their cream of mushroom soups is a must have!!! There cheese curds are an unexpected flavorful experience and thier potato skins were just as they should be with perfectly crispy bacon on top. Their bacon mushroom is good but not as good for me, their chicken and rice soup is packed full of rich flavor, but isn’t a liquid soup more of a dense creamy dish. Their side salad is perfect and I’m sure if that’s done well so are their salads. I had the Italian beef wrap and tots both have a kick even being mild. The only no dish for me was the Alfredo Mac that lacked flavor, size, and appearance though I got it to go. It came with 4 small shrimp for the add on and they had no flavor and were very over cooked. Food seems to be better in the restaurant than to go. Service and friendly faces are pretty common here however from my experience altering dishes doesn’t appear to be much of an option. The atmosphere here especially on the smaller side deck low tops is perfect. Very cute and clean environment perfect for a bar. Overall it’s a must try and I will be back for sure!

Love the service up and decor. Especially enjoy eating in the "little room". Super friendly staff and really good food.

This place is awesome. All of our food was excellent. I liked the unique combination of the rice / slaw bowl and my husband said the burger was one of the best. Service was also wonderful. It has fun decor and half of the restaurant is in an old train car.

A MUST VISIT! Very special place, I hope they exist forever! Beautiful old train dining car, quite the atmosphere--but the food is fantastic! As is the service. Best chef's salad I've had in many years & blue cheese! We will be back asap to try more & soak in the vibes. A real treasure, worth traveling to.

Bull Moose Bar & Grille in Sandwich, Illinois is hands down one of our favorite local spots. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a welcoming, small-town atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or just drinks with friends, Bull Moose consistently delivers a great experience. The food is always excellent and clearly made with care. Everything we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Their burgers are especially standout — juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The menu has something for everyone, whether you’re craving classic bar food or a hearty meal after a long day. Pair that with an ice-cold drink and it’s hard to beat. What really sets Bull Moose Bar & Grille apart is the staff. Every visit, the team is friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to have you there. Service is fast without feeling rushed, and you can tell they take pride in making sure customers are taken care of. It’s the kind of place where the staff remembers you and treats you like a regular, even if it’s your first time in. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun, and perfect for watching a game, meeting up with friends, or enjoying a casual night out in Sandwich, IL. It’s clean, comfortable, and has that authentic neighborhood bar and grill vibe that’s hard to find. If you’re looking for great food, friendly service, and a laid-back local spot in Sandwich, I highly recommend Bull Moose Bar & Grille. We’ll definitely be back again and again.

Our first time here. Atmosphere is fantastic, such a cute place, service was great, food was delicious. My two negatives are it was very cold inside, I never took off my winter coat, there is no parking lot, so parking can be tough to find. We would definitely go back.

We don’t come here super often, but every time we do, we have to get the PBBB&JJ burger—it’s hands down the best burger I’ve ever had, and my husband completely agrees! It’s such a unique combo, and they nail it every time. Our daughter loves pickles, so we always ask for extra on her kids' burger, and they never disappoint—they're huge and delicious! I’m also a big fan of their sweet potato fries, crispy and flavorful. My brother-in-law got the loaded potato and really enjoyed it—it was piled high and looked amazing. The wings were super juicy and had just the right amount of sauce. We also shared the fried pickles and cheese curds—both were excellent and paired perfectly with the ranch leftover from the wings. Eating in the train car adds such a fun and unique atmosphere to the whole experience. Always a great visit!
